The Problem: Headliners on boats are difficult to maintain. The overheads mildew or get really dirty, are difficult to clean, and overall don’t stay nice-looking for very long. The standard solution is to spray a bunch of adhesive and stick foam-backed cloth or fabric to the overhead. If it needs replacing, it’s hard to remove and start over.

The Solution: I’ve designed a system that covers the ugly and dirty overhead, uses no adhesives, is easily removable, and washable. A stainless steel rod is sewn into the front edge and back edge of a stretchable fabric. Clips hold the rod in place. The clips can be easily opened to remove the cloth, wash it, and put it back. No mess, no fuss. just elegant.

The Parts: Here are a few views of the parts. They are simple, small, and work perfectly to hold the cover in place.
